My name is William B. Eggington and I am a 3D animator living in Orem Utah. I have an awesome wife named Jennifer, a few fish, two crazy cats and a mortgage. I have my own company. Eggington Productions. We do 3D animation for Television Shows, games, commercials, websites etc. So this blog will probably talk a lot about all things 3D, movies and TV shows I like. . . a bit of politics maybe. I don’ t know. . . we will see how we go. Please enjoy my rantings.
Hi William,
Your tutorial was like finding water in the middle of the desert. I landed to your page thanks to Demicron. One thing that I would like to be helped with, those tutoriasl of LightWave are not related with each other. How you got where you started you tutorial, the UV Map? I did the UV map at Modeler by Map/New UV Map/MapType-Atlas. Follow your steps and at the end is reporting “Nothing was baked. Only faces 3 or 4 vertices can be baked. Other faces were ignored” and this message comes N-times which coincides with the N-number of surfaces, like in yours, roof, chemney… Just point me where, you don’t have to show me how
I don’t really know of any tutorials on laying out UVs off the top of my head. Also never use N-Gons. Always stick to using Quads and only use triangles if you can’t figure out any other way. None of my models have any triangles in them.
